INVISIBLE- A TRUE STORY

INVISIBLE- A TRUE STORY

Marriage added a new name to my life. Wife. Man\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s not only, the place he lives. So… Housewife. What they said, I also didn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t deny. The security of being a permanent employee. No salary, no holidays, no leave. Working hours of no limit. No retirement till death. A job fulfilling still…! So…Housewife.

(Laughs) Lazy…plentiful time to my credit. I am not working outside. My job entails no price. So…Housewife. I am the same human being, of flesh, blood, and in possession of the same spirit. The unsung heroines of your family. The invisible hand of your economy. But the insignificant being before anyone\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s eye. So…Housewife.

Bathed, perfumed and well-dressed, I am so idealized. (Laughs) Even to wash my hair, I have no time. I have to keep my family\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s meals ready. You can see half a day of my life. The rest I have no time to speak. Go to several stores, procure the daily necessities. Be it grocery, drapery or fish. I can\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t share with you my grief. Will you not empathise it still?

Hurt…when they proclaim, I can\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t claim, fail to reclaim, my dignity. I live on charity…! I am not earning, can\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t have the capacity. Right. I have no such alternative. Get the heat…My World, if ditched me. And the same song, I go on singing as a choice-less being. No saving of mine, no future certainty. No skills to my credit. Gone…with the wind.

Gruhini lived anthemic in the growth of a civilized society. Helped, nourished in them the emotions to grow a human being. And the history won\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t deny it. The problem that has no name still. And if they can\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t see the emptiness in my eyes, I go emptied. Invisible still. Then I am nobody. Not a human being. Just a mortal, a mere mortal, soon to go mortalized. So…Housewife.

Gruhini! Oh God, Your Job is not Job? Pity On Us, We Mean It, Make It So?
